The St Marys All Saints Parish Church
The St Marys All Saints Parish Church
Which is widely known has the" Crooked Spire"
The folklore tale which is most commonly  told is about the "Devils Virgin"
he found out that his bride was not a virgin when he married her .He was so
angry that made the spire crooked  and that he said that after the next virgin
to get married here the Spire will staighten ( not happened yet )
The expert opinion is that heavy lead cladding and unseasoned timber inside and
the Joiners who where working on it where in the ale house more than on building
the Spire, are the reason the tower is twisted

The Revolution House

Is in the Derbyshire village of old whittington and it was named
that because of the the Revolution of 1668, three hundred years ago
The cottage was an Alehouse called the "Cock and Pynot"
( pynot is a local dialect word for magpie )
Three local noblemen met to begin planning their part in the
overthrow of" King James 11" in favour of "William and Mary of orange"
